TIAA Pathway Careers – Training Programme

We are particularly committed to investing in the next generation of auditors through our Graduate Auditor and Trainee Auditor programmes – TIAA Pathway Careers. All auditors on our Graduate and Trainee Auditor programmes are supported by experienced staff, giving opportunities to learn and grow from their many years of experience.

See how Guy Roberts reflects on his apprenticeship with TIAA –

Our trainees come from a wide background with students that have a broad range of degrees, and those without a degree who are interested in the services we provide, even without experience in the industry. We provide our Trainees with a Mentor who, along with their Line Manager, assist with student progression within TIAA and in gaining professional qualifications. We are proud that the strong support system our Trainee Scheme offers has provided, and continues to provide, so many talented individuals with the tools and opportunities to develop a bright and promising career in audit.

At TIAA we support opportunities for work experience placements for those in full time education. This can be for periods of several weeks duration during the summer vacation, or single week intense insight sessions. These sessions are about providing an ‘open day’ experience.

Returners and back into work

Thinking of returning to audit after a career break? We value experience and believe our roles provide the flexibility, in terms of working hours/patterns, that provides a route back to audit. We welcome applications from people who have taken a break from employment, and our ‘get back up to date’ training provides the support and skills for a smooth transition.

We are a supporter of the “Get Britain Working” campaign, and provide work experience and employment to individuals through this incentive. Part of the process is to enable the development of social skills to be able to fit into an office environment.

Initiatives in this area include offering placements for unemployed people, and work experience for school-leavers, where they can gain valuable skills. We work with many clients to offer their accounting trainees experience of audit work to help complete their professional logs.
