This webinar will be led by Carver Tedstone who is Lead of TIAA’s CQC advisory practice. Carver is a former senior CQC inspector and highly experienced in all aspects of the CQC inspection and monitoring regime.

Prior to Covid19 the majority of CQC inspections involved site visits. During the lockdown period, the CQC adapted their approach by focusing on remote monitoring including data analysis, provider information returns by email and interviews via video conference calls.

The new CQC approach involves using digital methods to gather data and inform risk based focused inspections. These will target services where there are concerns, focusing on the Safe and Well Led domains. The CQC plans to carry out monthly reviews of all services except dentists and NHS Trusts. There will be a greater reliance on data from services and stakeholders, targeting of services with Inadequate or Requires Improvement ratings with physical inspections and data monitoring of services with less identified risk.

Carver will focus on the key impacts of this change on your organisation and how your Board should seek to take assurance that governance systems are effective. Carver will focus his attention on what this means for regulated private health and social care organisations.
