Lessons Learned Briefing on Risk Management in the Social Housing Sector
Effective risk management is an integral part of core business activity for all social housing providers. This briefing summarises the findings from audit work carried out by TIAA between 2014/15 and 2017/18 across our Housing clients in the area of ‘Risk Management’. Our analysis identifies common control weaknesses in areas relating to: the structure and composition of Risk Registers; Risk Management Policy issues; the identification, recording, monitoring and follow up of risks; the quality of Board Assurance and the recording of Mitigating Actions. This Lessons Learned briefing is designed to help our clients consider their own status in this important area.
A full copy of the briefing is available to our clients through TIAA’s Client Portal. Please contact your local audit team for further information.
