Leading and supporting a team of highly skilled specialists, Jai consistently delivers to his portfolio of clients across different public sector organisations. Jai is responsible for oversight on all aspects of the service, including developing strategic and annual plans, presenting to audit committees, devising, monitoring and reviewing individual audit assignments and strengthening assurance at every client.
Jai has particular expertise in the areas of risk management, finance and accounting. He has the knowledge and experience to make significant and recognised contributions to maintaining and improving internal control and performance and ultimately, helping his client organisations to improve the lives of their customers.
Career Highlights
- Developing an audit framework for Tenant Satisfaction Measures, a new regulation for the social housing sector effective from April 2023. Jai has delivered this review to a number of registered providers and supporting them to achieve C1 status by the Regulator of Social Housing.
- On numerous occasions commended by clients for consistently going above and beyond to support and meet client needs, whilst also recognised for his exceptional communication and organisational skills. His client-based approach has resulted in positive feedback from his clients and highlights his adaptive nature and high level of commitment.
- Leading and supporting a team of skilled staff to deliver a high-quality service to clients, on time and within budget, whilst supporting staff personal development.
- Presenting on risk management to client’s Boards and Audit Committees covering areas such as risk identification, scoring and appetite and assurance mapping, increasing Board Members’ knowledge of risk management and allowed the organisation to become more risk mature.
- Managing several reviews of business continuity in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to providing assurance on business continuity arrangements and response, we also worked with clients to think about the future and helped identify improvements to be made and kept for the ‘new normal’. Feedback from various clients found value in the advice given on moves to digitisation and recommendations for adapting internal control frameworks to facilitate flexible working models.
- Leading a detailed review of a payments audit in collaboration with the data analysis team to identify red flags such as duplicate payments, duplicate suppliers in the supplier listing, payments without POs and approvals in line with the scheme of delegations. The review resulted in several recommendations aimed at enhancing the management of key financial controls and adopting broader value-for-money strategies across the organisation.
