March is B Corp month, a global celebration of businesses that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

This year’s theme is Gen B: Whether young or old, big or small, Certified B Corps think boldly, act for change, and demand a better future. Our certification is more than a mark: it’s a way of seeing the world—and leading for good.

As we celebrate B Corp Month, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the positive impact our organisation has made as a certified B Corporation. Our commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and ethical practices is evident in the statistics and data we’ve gathered over the past year. Here are some key highlights that demonstrate our dedication to making a difference:

Volunteer Hours and Community Engagement

Our staff are empowered to make a positive impact in their communities by utilising up to two working days per year for activities with a sustainability, environmental, community, or charitable theme. This policy translates to approximately 2,000 available volunteer hours annually. These hours are dedicated to various initiatives, from local clean-up projects to supporting charitable organisations, showcasing our commitment to community involvement.

Ethnicity Pay Gap

Our latest Ethnicity Pay Gap report shows a decreasing proportion of the organisations total pay being made to staff who have identified as White. This reflects the success of efforts being made in our recruitment processes, especially via the TIAA Pathway careers training scheme, to reduce barriers to employment.

Gender Pay Gap

We are committed to providing equal pay and conditions to all staff regardless of who they are. Our latest Gender Pay Gap report highlights that there still remains a gap between the men and women in the upper pay quartiles, however this has narrowed due to the change in makeup of the senior team, which now comprises ⅓ women compared to ¼ in 2022. Our data also shows that our mean pay gap across the company has been falling year on year since 2022. Work is still underway to align grades and salary packages, which should see a further minimising of the gap in 2025.

Sustainable Fleet Transformation

We have made significant strides in reducing our carbon footprint through the transformation of our vehicle fleet. As of January 2025, an impressive 96% of our fleet cars are now fully electric or hybrid electric, a substantial increase from 80% in the 2023/24 period. This shift not only reduces our greenhouse gas emissions but also sets a strong example for sustainable business practices in our industry.

Green Energy Commitment

All our staffed offices are now powered by green energy plans, ensuring that our operations are aligned with our sustainability goals. This transition to renewable energy sources underscores our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and promoting a cleaner, greener future.

Reuse and Recycling Efforts

Our dedication to sustainability extends to our waste management practices. By December 2024, we achieved a remarkable recycling rate of 97.2%. Additionally, for the 2024/25 period to date, we have successfully repurposed 1.3 tonnes of unwanted furniture, donating these items to staff, charities, and schools. These efforts not only reduce waste but also support our community partners.

Charitable Contributions

Our commitment to giving back is reflected in our charitable donations. For the 2024/25 period, our fundraising efforts and company donations have resulted in a total of £4,369 being contributed to various charitable causes. These funds support a range of initiatives, from local community projects to national campaigns.

B Corp Partnerships

Collaboration is key to driving positive change, and we are proud to be working with five other B Corps, with additional partnerships under investigation. These collaborations allow us to amplify our impact and share best practices with like-minded organisations committed to sustainability and social responsibility.
