Career Highlights

  • Kashif led the risk, governance and internal audit elements of due diligence review as part of the merger of two large Housing Associations. The review identified some potential risks that should be considered as part of the merger decision;
  • Kashif led on a joint review with a pension subject matter expert to review both the controls framework for onboard staff and the setup of the pension following the implementation of a new payroll system. The review formed part of the implementation plan for the system and aided the organisation in identifying gaps in the onboarding process, as well as compliance with the Pension Regulator’s requirements;
  • Kashif led the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and the new Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF)-aligned toolkit reviews across his client base. This included working alongside other subject matter experts in IT, Information Governance and Internal Audit to review each NHS organisation’s self-assessment against NHS England’s requirements. This wholistic approach provided each organisation with a tailored approach to their review and conforming to NHS England’s requirements;
  • Kashif has led the development of audit plans which encompass key ‘Golden Threads’, such as Equality, Diversity and Inclusion; Social Value and Value for Money. The inclusion of these Golden Threads has allowed organisations to consider how embedded each thread is within each audit area and identified areas were improvements could be made to further embed these threads into operational processes;
  • Kashif has led Internal Audit Teams at both Housing Association’s and NHS Acute Trust’s that had recently merged with other providers, respectively. Each client and respective audit committee’s were impressed with the development of the internal audit plan to encompass the new organisation, the working arrangements and the Team that included a number of subject matter experts.
